Does the d8s scan 2001 chrysler vehicles?

I'm trying to scan a 2001 chrysler town and country 3.8 and will not read it. Manual only shows 2003 or new. Odb2 is 1996 and newer. For the price i paid for this, 2001 shouldn't be an issue. Seems it is.

According to Xtool, the D*S supports Chrysler vehicles from 1996 and newer.
